EFDF Eligibility Requirements for EUC2007

1. National Teams

1.1. A national team player must have the nationality of the respective nation.

1.2. A foreigner who wishes to compete on a national team at European Ultimate Championships must have lived continuously in that nation's country for at least two consecutive years immediately prior to the tournament.

1.3. A national team may have a maximum of two "foreign" players as defined in 1.2.

1.4. A player who has lived continuously in a country for at least five consecutive years immediately prior to the tournament is no longer considered a "foreign" player on that national team's roster.

2. Tyro teams

2.1. Countries that have not entered a national team at EUC or WU(G)C tournaments in a certain division within the last nine years may apply to enter a Tyro team for that division, in case they cannot send a national team as described under 1.

2.2. Tyro teams are national teams which have up to four non-nationals who fall outside the definitions of a "foreign" player as defined in 1.2 and 1.4. (Being a national team they can also have a maximum of two "foreign" players as defined in 1.2.) It is the intention of this ruling to encourage new teams to enter EUC and to provide them with the experience necessary to further develop their game.

2.3. Individual players must be eligible for the division in which the Tyro team is entered.

2.4. Tyro teams are ineligible to compete for one of the top 4 spots within their division (i.e. may not qualify for semifinal stages). In divisions large enough to have quarterfinals they may not participate in quarterfinals.

3. International teams

3.1. Merger teams of different countries, that separately have not entered EUC or WU(G)C tournaments in a certain division within the last nine years, shall be called "International" teams. These teams may include players from two or three countries, besides a maximum of two "foreign" players as defined in 1.2. It is the intention of this ruling to encourage new teams to enter EUC and to provide them with the experience necessary to further develop their game.

3.2. International teams can come from countries that have not competed at EUC or WU(G)C tournaments within the last nine years, or from countries that have competed before at EUC or WU(G)C tournaments, but not in that certain division within the last nine years.

3.3. Individual players must be eligible for the division in which the International team is entered.

3.4. International teams are ineligible to compete for one of the top 4 spots within their division (i.e. may not qualify for semifinal stages). In divisions large enough to have quarterfinals they may not participate in quarterfinals.

4. Masters and Juniors

4.1. The Masters division is available to all players who reach 32 years of age or more during 2007. So you have to be born in 1975 or earlier.

4.2. The Juniors U-20 division is available to all players who won't reach 20 years of age or more during 2007. So you have to be born in 1988 or later.

4.3. The Juniors U-17 division is available to all players who won't reach 17 years of age or more during 2007. So you have to be born in 1991 or later.

European Ultimate Championship organizers shall provide each national team with an official roster form on which to list each player's name, date of birth, his or her division and his or her nationality or "foreign" player status. This form is to be returned to the organizers prior to the tournament. It is the responsibility of each National Association to nominate the members of each team participating at the tournament.

If you have any exception requests to the Eligibility Requirements, they must be sent to the EFDF at efdfb-at-efdf.org before the 15th of January 2007.

Requests should come from the official contact person that was appointed by your National Association, not by the individual player. Please include the player's name, date of birth, division, country, a description of the player's situation, and why your National Association is supporting this player's participation.

Any exceptions, or exemptions of them, will be made at the discretion of the EFDF.

EFDF Uniform Requirements for EUC2007

All European Championships events are prestigious in nature. Every tournament reflects on those who play. The standards that are set with uniforms are a major way of convincing the public and media that we should be taken seriously as a sport. The following directives apply to team uniforms.

Shirts

All players in a team shall wear shirts that match in colour and design in each game. Teams shall have available a light-coloured and separate dark-coloured set of team shirts. The shirts shall be numbered with Arabic integral numerals in a range 0-99, with unique numbers for each player on the team. The numbers should be sewn or printed on the back of shirts and should be a minimum of 20 centimetres high and 5 centimetres wide. They should be located so that they are completely visible and have a sufficient difference in colour to the shirt material to allow easy reading. Individual players must use the same shirt numbers throughout the tournament to help with the gathering of playing data.

Shorts

All players in a team shall wear shorts that are matching in colour and design in all games. Shorts may have numbers sewn or printed on the front left leg of the shorts. The numbering should match that of the player's shirt.

Socks

All players in a team should wear socks matching in colour and design in all games. This is mandatory for all teams in Final Games.

Teams should also be aware that the EUC2007 organising committee reserves the right to impose restrictions on uniform designs that might be considered offensive, derogatory or in breach of legal rules on advertising in sport. As a general guidleine, please consider there will be Under 17 teams particpating in EUC2007, and that local schools will be invited to attend. Please get in touch with us on info@euc2007.org if you have any questions.
